Hampshire E-News Letter. Release of new revision TSHARC-12s Firmware for TTL communication. Enhanced two way communication

Hampshire Company, Inc., a world leader in touch screen controller electronics and software, has announced the release of their latest TSHARC-12s touch screen controller chip for TTL communication. Previous Hampshire TSHARC-12s Firmware Revision: 12xT30 New Hampshire TSHARC-12s Firmware Revision: 12xT49 Where x = DIP, SOIC or SSOP chip package.

The latest firmware version for the HT12-100x0s “S” touch screen controller chip is available in 20 pin DIP, SOIC or SSOP packages or mounted to a standard TSHARC-12 “V” or “M” touch screen controller board. This firmware release enables enhanced two way configuration communications between the host computer and the Hampshire TSHARC controller.

This communication can be extremely valuable when it is necessary to extend the useful life of a degrading touch screen or when it is necessary to use a touch screen which was produced with very high contact resistance or capacitance qualities.

While Hampshire does not recommend using an out of spec touch screen in any application, in all cases, having the ability to temporarily eliminate a problem is helpful until a permanent corrective action can be implemented.
